File: readme.txt RomEm USB 1) Driver Installation Insert the CD. Plug RomEm into your USB port, connect power to it, and turn it on. When Windows asks for the driver, point it to the CD ROM drive. This only needs to be done once. 2) Windows GUI installation Run setup.exe from the CD. Software will be loaded into your Start Menu as "ROMEM" The GUI can be used only on RomEm USB units (not parallel port units). Note: Remove previous versions of the gui before installing new ones. 3) Console (command line) software Copy rep32.exe and rep32.hlp into a directory in your path. Run rep32. The console application can be used with both RomEm USB and RomEm parallel port versions. New console commands: pu? Scans USB port for connected units and reports what it finds pu Selects the USB port plx Selects parallel port, where x = 1 to 4 4) Voltage options RomEmUSB is configured at the factory for 5V operation. To change, you must open the cabinet and refer to the following chart: JP2 1-2 Adjustable * 3-4 5.0V 5-6 3.3V 7-8 2.7V If adjustable is chosen, adjust RPOT1 for any value from 2.5 to 5.3V as measured on the red EZ Hook off the ribbon cable. Note: The LED on the RomEm unit will blink if it is powered on but not enumerated by the USB. Once the USB software enumerates the device, the LED will stay on steady. If the LED should start blinking during normal operation, turn the RomEm off and back on. Its data is battery backed and will not be lost.
